Latifa’s Story

Latifa from Qarbagh, Afghanistan escaped her home and flew to Indonesia to have freedom and peace. She’s currently a part of Refutera where she creates her handmade products. Latifa was passionate about sewing and handicrafts since she was a child, she learned it from her older sister. ” I really loved sewing since I was young. I could create different things such as Khamak, Graph, Qabtumar, etc. and I’m still continuing to do so. Since I joined Refutera, I feel great and relieved from all the stress, it’s just a different feeling when I meet with other friends and we sit together creating beautiful products.

It’s important for each human to be happy. There’s an amazing feeling when I sell my products when I know I succeeded in creating something that is useful for others. Thanks to Refutera, I have an income and I can support my family. Hopefully, when we resettle from Indonesia, I’m planning to continue handicrafts and learn new skills.  – says Latifa.
