Sakina Noori’s Story

Sakina Noori Story

Refugees from different countries come to Indonesia as asylum seekers not knowing what is waiting ahead of them. All these refugees get stuck with no development in their status for a long time. They had no choice but to flee their homeland and seek for safety in other countries.
One of the most challenging part of this limitation is a livelihood right to work which this have caused refugees to face huge financial challenges whereby the refugees cannot fulfill their daily expenses.

Let’s a take a look into Mrs. Noori’s life, a refugee woman who lives with her family in Indonesia. ” I’ve been living here since 2017 with my family, we escaped Afghanistan because of the danger and war. We came seeking for safety but we did not know that refugees don’t have the right to work or educate here. Indonesia is safe to live but we can’t work, study or have to right to own something. My kids can’t go to school and this is very devastating to me as we’ve been here for a long time.” – says Sakina

Mrs. Noori has recently joined Refutera and has handcrafted beautiful products.

Recently I’ve joined Refutera, and it has positively affected my mental health. It’s a very friendly environment sitting with other talented woman and doing handcrafts away from all the stress. – says Sakina Noori
